Battle Gallery for August 2008: APOCALYPSE!

I think this was roughly 15,000 points per side. A massive undertaking.
Things did not go smoothly but we did (hopefully) learn from our mistakes.

The garage, a day before. I set up the terrain the day before to save time the day of the show. Here's the base structure at 6' x 12'. Garage the day before The terrain about half way through. It's tough to figure out what will make a balanced board at this size. Apocalypse terrain setup

Forces of the Imperium awaiting deployment. Imperial Guard Apocalypse Orks and Imperial Guard deploy a garrison force of long range weapons to defend the city side of the table. The "spider" is proxy for a Hierophant (which worked very well) and the Rancor is a Titan (Warhound) proxy. Apoc - 1st Turn
Choas filth amasses at the edges of teh swamp for cover, waiting thier turn to rush into battle. Chaos gathers! Many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, gaunts swamp the city sector, striking fear and incertainty into the ork and hoomie forces. Tyranid Endless Swarm
The view down the "main street" of town. It doesn't look good with only a Chimera and two lootas left. Those things look BIG! Damnation Alley One turn and 7 hours later.... All forces hav efinally deployed! Yay! Ork Fighta bombas scour the landscape, repeatedly removing tons of gaunts, but they keep coming back! Big Stuff
Lotst of Ork Tanks deploy to harass the Gargantuan creatures from the rear. Advancing Orks Orks fill up the rest of the deployment zones, ready to surround the enemy and crush'em. We'll never find out though as this is the last turn. Orks move out.
