End of the Year and First Finished Escher Gang Models
End of the Year Wrap Up
Well, I’ve completed a total of 5 minis this year since starting the hobby back up in March. No, it’s not a lot, but, I’m still busy with all of the other things in my life and it’s more models than I’ve painting in the last 7 years. Gotta restart somewhere!
The Necromunda Escher Gang test models finished up ok. I like how the color scheme looks and feel pretty good about how I want to move forward with the rest of the gang. I’m still a little frustrated with how not-quickly I’m regaining my painting muscle memory and skills I used to have. Brush control and blending are my two biggest hurdles at the moment. But I also need to remember when I was at my “peak” before, I had painted literally 400+ miniatures and didn’t really give it a thought about how I had achieved that, or how quickly it went away. Not that I’m mad, just a bit frustrated.

Looking at the finished gangers, I can tell where I started and where I finished and can see my abilities getting slightly better as the models progressed. Small steps, but steps none the less.
Up next, I’m going to finish off the 4 Bloodbowl Ork players I started before picking up the Escher gang. After that, it’s back to more gangers. The idea is to alternate between the two until I have enough painted minis of each game to play. Then I’ll revisit the stack of minis I had purchased before that and just have fun instead of for gaming. I like the idea of using the “gaming” figures to get my legs back, then moving on the ones purely or my own personal satisfaction.
Later!
