Yes, I’m Still Here, Just… Busy

In the parlance of the old forum days, it’s time to resurrect this thread…

Yes, January 6th was my last post, and this should be considered dead enough to need “resurrecting”. That said, not all was shelved as I was busy with a few other things, some actually hobby related, which I’ll share with you today before my next constructive modeling post.

Long story short, I rejoined the staff as a TO of an event I created with some gaming friends back in 2011. I had stepped out in 2018 to manage some other things in my life, including starting another business. Last year, I realized I could return and not destroy balance in my life. This event, The Granite City Waaagh!Fest! is a 64 person Rouge Trader Warhammer 40K tournament. In a bar. Super low-key, super fun, made for drinking and throwing dice.

Along with the admin side of things and public outreach and awareness, I took on a few modeling/painting aspects as well. One was the painting of a table full of orky terrain for a new board, the other was the re-creation of custom ork slug pistols – similar to what I had done for our event as trophies back in 2012.

I’m sharing the final versions of these projects mainly to have a record in my timeline of these projects. The terrain buildings progress probably isn’t as interesting, but I will do a future post on how I constructed and painted the slug pistols.

With the release of the new WH40K 11th Edition along with a slew on new ork models, I find myself being dragged back in to da boyz in green.
