Looted Wagon #2 and New Stormboyz

OK – rumors swirling around the interent that something big is happening. REALLY BIG. Like BIG MEK BIG!
Well, the rumors are true. The original Big Mek Challengers are going at it again. In a farewell send off to Uberdark’s Orky horde, him and I have decided to have one last Big Mek Dual. This time it’s Wazzdakka Gutsmek. Him and i talked a while back (before he started the Iron Squiggoth painting – splendid work Uber!) and said we’d do it, just didn’t know when. Our schedules have cleared, the planets have aligned, and Gork and Mork have seen fit to make it so. We’ll be doing this starting March 1st(ish) and ending at the end of March(ish).
I’ve been cooking ideas to do Wazzdakka since he rode around with a Battlecannon mounted on his bike and I’ve been hording bitz for a long time. I have an idea of what Uber might be cooking up but won’t say anything until we start the contest.
ON to other news. At least I didn’t take last place in the tournament this weekend. It was a rough one for me as my first match was against my best friend (I play every week with him, someone different please?) and we pushed, very good game. The second match was broken (really, I wasn’t the only one complaining) and the third match I lost as well but not so badly. I did take Best Paint though, which game me enough in-store $$$ to pick me up a couple of these…
These will start to replace the part metal ones from 3rd ed (ug) and you might even see some parts include in the upcoming Wazzdakka build (maybe).
But, until that starts, if I spend time on the hobby it’s working on what I threatened before. Looted Wagon #2 (the first one was the original Big Mek Challenge against Uberdark) and his Big Mek Brother’s Apocalypse version.
I got a running start and roughly pieced together the bases to get a sense of scale for each.
The looted wagon will be have a ‘ard case, boom gun, reinforced ram (dozer blade) and grot riggers. For the big brother version (I’ll have to work up some kinda name for it…) I’m thinking a Lifta Droppa for the main armament and some big shootas, rokkits, and maybe a kannon or killkannon as secondary weapons.
Well, that’s it for tonight. We’ll see how much I get finished before March’s competition.
